At the heart of the camera is a brand new 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, utilizing a stacked and back-illuminated structure. Together with the powerful DIGIC X image processor and DIGIC Accelerator, this enables an impressive 30 frames per second shooting speed and excellent low-light performance. The R5 Mark II also features an advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system, covering 100% of the image area and offering 1053 focus points. Subject recognition and tracking are even more precise and reliable thanks to deep learning algorithms.


The R5 Mark II is not only a photography camera but also a true workhorse for video production. It is capable of internally recording 8K 60p RAW video and offers a wide range of video features, including Canon Log 3, 4:2:2 10-bit recording, and slow-motion shooting at up to 120 fps in 4K resolution. The camera also has an HDMI port for external recording and supports Canon's VR and RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lenses.
