Blood Rage is a strategic Viking board game where players lead clans in an epic battle for renown as Ragnarök looms. Combining card drafting, area control, and tactical mythological combat, players conquer provinces and seek eternal glory in Valhalla.
In Blood Rage, players take command of proud Viking clans battling for eternal renown as the cataclysmic apocalypse of Ragnarök approaches. Facing the impending destruction of their world, clans fight not merely to survive, but to amass glory and secure a revered place in Valhalla before the end of days.
Gameplay progresses across three distinct ages driven by strategic card drafting and hand management. At the start of each age, players draft divine blessings and gifts from Norse gods such as Odin, Thor, and Loki. These cards supply combat upgrades, clan quest objectives, tactical battle stratagems, and fearsome mythical monsters that can be recruited directly into your army.
Territorial conquest and combat demand careful maneuvering and sharp foresight. Clans invade contested provinces, pillage settlements for vital resources and clan stat upgrades, and clash in fierce battles against rival factions. As Ragnarök progressively destroys regions of the world, available territory shrinks and drives players into increasingly intense skirmishes.
Victory can be achieved through diverse and dynamic pathways. Decisive military triumphs on the battlefield award immediate glory, but heroic defeats also reward clever tacticians by sending fallen warriors straight to Valhalla, triggering unique clan scoring opportunities and allowing units to return in later ages.
Designed by Eric M. Lang with illustrations by Adrian Smith, the game features exquisitely sculpted miniature figures representing clan leaders, warriors, longships, and legendary monsters, complemented by an illustrated board and dedicated clan sheets.
