Regarding the finishes: Brass is a material that develops a beautiful patina over time but can be polished with brass polish. Copper also develops a patina, which is stronger and darker than brass. Neither copper nor Grottesco (raw/untreated brass) should be polished.


As all Tapwell mixers are tested with water pressure before leaving their factory, condensation may remain in the packaging, which can initiate the patination process even before the product is installed.


For installation, the pipes leading to the mixers must be flushed clean before assembly. For cleaning, the surface should be wiped with a soft cloth and lukewarm water, possibly with a soap solution. The surface is not resistant to alkaline, acidic, descaling, or abrasive cleaning agents.
