The HORTUS 4-step stair stringer provides a sturdy and precise foundation for building outdoor steps from decks, patios, or terraces. Made from 45 mm thick pressure-treated pine, it features a 34-degree rise angle with ergonomically proportioned 17 cm risers and 25 cm treads.

Engineered with ergonomic step proportions, the stringer features a step height (riser) of 17 cm and a step depth (tread) of 25 cm at a comfortable 34-degree angle of ascent. This standard sizing ensures a safe, natural, and effortless walking experience when transitioning between garden levels or elevated decking.


Treated with modern, chromium- and arsenic-free pressure impregnation, the wood is fortified against rot, moisture damage, and fungal decay. This treatment extends the service life of your outdoor staircase, making it well-suited for exposed patio and garden environments above ground level.


For optimal stability and load distribution, installation requires steps made with deck boards of at least 28 mm in thickness, installed with a maximum center-to-center distance (c/c) of 600 mm between stringers. Combine multiple stringers side by side to build staircases of any desired width.
